Remedial Massage
This is a highly effective and targeted massage session focused entirely on releasing the causes of pain and discomfort. In treating clients, a range of advanced massage techniques are utilised including Soft Tissue Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Deep Tissue Massage.
Remedial Massage reaches below the superficial layers of muscle tissue - it aims to release chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deeper pressure on the contracted areas. The purpose is to 'unstick' the muscle fibres and release deeply-held patterns of congestion while relaxing and soothing the muscle.
Many chronic pain conditions are caused by restrictions and adhesions in soft tissue which can build up over time and are often due to repetitive movements, leading to pain which may be felt in the restricted area or elsewhere in the body. Such restrictions or adhesions may be due to injury, through accidents or sports; scar tissue post-surgery; poor posture; and repetitive strain and overuse, for example through prolonged keyboard and mouse work.
Remedial Massage techniques can help to alleviate pain, bringing about a better posture, more flexibility and fluid movement.
Typical conditions that will benefit include: General muscle soreness- Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
